Real Estate Prices in Aspen Decline in 2009 - what a surprise!

STUDY DETAILS PROPERTY DECLINE
The Aspen Appraisal Group has released an in-depth study of Aspen-area real estate property values, the “Aspen/Snowmass Market Overview: 2009 Year End Review and A Look at What’s Ahead.” The study documents that area real estate prices fell 20% - 40% during the recession from their peak in 2007. Sales of single-family home sales fell 8% in 2009, compared with 2008 and dollar volume dropped 5%.
